Archived News: August 11th, 2012 - On Saturday night Rauen Motorsports followed the Corn Belt Clash Series to Jackson County Speedway (Maquoketa, Iowa) for another $2,000-to-win program. With twenty-three competitors entered Rauen drew the ninth starting spot for his heat race before advancing five positions to a fourth place finish. His heat race performance locked him into the main event. Late in the event Jason was battling for the sixth spot, when he was involved in an accident that brought his evening to an end in the sixteenth position. August 10th, 2012 - After struggles in the most recent events the team was looking to get things back on track on Friday night in Corn Belt Clash Series action at Chateau Speedway (Lansing, Minnesota). Twenty-two competitors entered the event, and after storming to the heat race win Rauen started third on the grid for the $2,000-to-win feature. In the main event he battled throughout the top ten for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the fifth position behind race winner, Chad Simpson, Chris Simpson, Dave Eckrich, and Charlie McKenna. August 6th, 2012 - Jason followed the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model tour to Independence Motor Speedway (Independence, Iowa) on Monday night for a $10,000-to-win event. Thirty-three Super Late Models registered for action, and Rauen started his night by finishing third in the third heat race to lock into the eleventh starting spot for the 50 lap finale. The team had high hopes for the feature, but after a pair of pit stops Jason would retire to a 23rd place finish with an ill-handling car. Full results from the event are available at www.WoOLMS.com. August 4th, 2012 - It was a long and frustrating weekend for Jason and the team at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) as he took part in festivities for the 25th Annual USA Nationals. After his bad luck on Thursday night he took part in time trials and heat race action on Friday evening for the $50,000-to-win, 25th Annual USA Nationals. The $50,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model program saw 53 entries on hand, and after struggling in time trials he would start eighth on the grid in the second heat race. With the top three finishers transferring to the feature he would finish seventh, which left him starting the b-main on Saturday night in sixth. With the top two finishers locking into the feature, Rauen failed to reach a transfer spot, but did earn a position in the last chance qualifier. With an ill-handling car he retired early from the qualifier, ending his weekend early. Full results are available at www.WoOLMS.com. August 3rd, 2012 - Thursday night marked the opening round of the 25th Annual USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin), and it would prove to be a nightmare outing for Rauen. A talented field of fifty-seven competitors were on hand for the $5,000-to-win, Corn Belt Clash Series event. With pill draw determining the lineup for heat race action Jason would see contact on the opening lap of his heat, which resulted in a flat, left-rear tire, and as a result had to duck into the pits for fresh rubber before rejoining the tail of the field. A few laps later he would be involved in another incident and decided to call it a night. He will hope for better luck on Friday evening.
