Archived News: May 26th, 2014 - It was back to business for Jason and the team on Monday evening at Boone Speedway (Boone, Iowa) in a $3,000-to-win, Deery Brothers Summer Series event. Twenty-four Super Late Models were on hand for the event, and a second place finish in heat race action positioned Rauen starting fourth in the main event. In the feature Jason used lap traffic to his advantage late in the race to make a bid for the lead against early leader Ray Guss Jr. Rauen made the pass on Guss on the 31st circuit when Guess was slowed by a lap car. The yellow light came on as Rauen and Guss were coming to the white flag, as the duo would swap the lead after the restart before a slight bobble by Rauen opened the door again for Guss on the finale. Once out front, Guss went to the high line and sped to the checkers while Rauen settled in second. Joel Callahan, Andy Eckrich, and Terry Neal rounded out the top five finishers. The weekend kicked off on Friday night at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) with a $3,000-to-win program for competitors. A talented field of forty-five entries registered for the event, and struggles in heat race action left Jason to run a b-main. He went on to a fifth place finish in the b-main, but only the top three finishers moved on to the main event bringing his night to an early end. Full results from the event are available at www.CornBeltClash.com or www.MLRARacing.com May 3rd, 2014 - Jason Rauen entered a single event over the weekend as he returned to the seat of his #98 Super Late Model in a Deery Brothers Summer Series event at Quad City Speedway (East Moline, Illinois). Thirty-one competitors registered for the Hershel Roberts Memorial to chase the $3,000 winner's check. Jason started his night by finishing second in his preliminary heat race to lock into the 58 lap main event. In the feature Rauen battled near the front of the pack, and held the second spot early on before fading and eventually retiring to a disappointing 21st place finish in the final rundown.
