September 26th, 2015 - Jason Rauen made the trek to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) over the weekend for the 12th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals at the historic, 1/2 mile oval.
Thursday evening found sixty-three entries taking part in the opening night of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event. With a $7,000 top prize on the line Jason Rauen fell just short of qualifying for the feature via heat race action. He started 4th on the grid in the b-main and battled for a transfer spot for the first half of the event before retiring with mechanical issues, which brought his night to an early end.
A $7,000 winner's check was again up for grabs on Friday night for the second round of the mega weekend. Rauen again found himself in a b-main, and ran in a transfer spot until the final laps of the race, when he slipped to 7th. With just the six cars moving onto the finale, his night ended early.
On Saturday evening Jason found his night ending before it ever started, when an engine failure in hot laps sidelined him for the remainder of the weekend.
