January 13th, 2017 - After getting his Black Diamond #98 Super Late Model straightened and ready run, Jason Rauen returned to action on Wednesday night at Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) for the third round of the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. Drawing 40 Super Late Models, Jason followed up the the 3rd fastest time in his qualifying group a with a 4th place finish in his heat race. Earning the 16th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Jason improved four spots in the 30-lapper registering a 12th place finish.

Action picked back up on Friday night after having a scheduled off day on Thursday evening. In a field of 46 cars, Jason Rauen earned a front-row spot for his heat after timing in 2nd quickest behind Bobby Pierce in time trials. Transferring the Top 5 into the A-Main, Rauen landed a runner-up finish behind Pierce securing his spot into the show. Battling for a $5,000 payday, Jason Rauen fell back to a 12th place outing in the 30-lap main event.

11January 8th, 2017 - The 11th annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts kicked off on Saturday night with Jason Rauen and 48 Super Late Models signed in at Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) for the opening round of six. After starting the night off with the fastest time overall in qualifying, Rauen scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Ricky Thornton Jr. locking his spot into the main event. With $5,000 on the line, Jason fell back to a 14th place outing in the 30-lap affair.

Returning on Sunday for another $5,000-to-win A-Main, Jason timed in 2nd fastest in his qualifying group behind A.J. Diemel. Needing a 4th place finish or better in his heat to make the show, Rauen scored a 2nd place spot behind Ricky Thornton Jr. Looking to top his outing the previous night, Jason started in 9th for the main event but his night came to an abrupt ending after another car caught the guardrail in turn 3 and came smashing into him.
