With 67 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries registered in for action, Petty recorded a 9th place finish in his heat race giving him one more shot at the opening night Cowboy Classic A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 2, Chandler slipped back to a 11th place outing ending his night abruptly.

Returning on Friday night for the Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson, Petty landed a 6th place finish in his heat race transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place 2nd or better to make the final $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, Chandler lost one spot in the 15-lap consolation event logging a 8th place finish.

Sending only the race winner into the $30,000-to-win finale, Chandler was collected behind a wreck late in the race ending his bid into the feature.
